OLONGAPO CITY– Eight suspected drugs pushers were arrested by joint elements of the Zambales Criminal Investigation and Detection Team (ZCIDT) and the Olongapo City police in a week-long drug operation in Barangay Calapacuan, Subic, Zambales, police said.
Chief Inspector Rogelio Peñones, Jr., ZCIDT provincial officer, identified the suspects as Rogelio Dela Cruz, 25; Melencio Lopez, 26; Christian Aquino, 23; Mads Hain 36; Ernesto Butin, 47; Nerissa Vasques, 35; Richard Ramos, 31 and Jeffrey Cabalan, 21 all residents of Barangay Calapacuan.
The ZCIDT and Olongapo City police implemented “Oplan Big Bertha”, the campaign against illegal drugs and caught the suspects in the act selling sachets of shabu worth P500,000 to police assets.
A total of 23 plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 30 grams with estimated market value of P395,000 and marked money were recovered from the suspects.
All suspects were locked up at ZCIDT detention cell facing charges for violation of Section 5 and 11 of RA 9165 (selling and possession of drugs).
