CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Non-administration presidential contenders should “unite and oppose” a possible “Only Mar (Roxas)” scenario in the 2016 elections.

This was the appeal issued here yesterday by the Anakpawis partylist amid the disqualification case of presidential aspirant Grace Poe who is being supported by various militant groups.

“We believe that Senator Poe’s disqualification case is just step one and that behind this is the Aquino administration, his Liberal Party clique, for the advancement of Mar Roxas candidacy,” Anakpawis Rep. Fernando Hicap said in a statement.

Anakpawis said that the “Only Mar” scenario would also possibly coverthe “issuance of arrest warrant for Vice-President Jejomar Binay who is facing four plunder case at the Ombudsman, followed by a demolitionjob or disqualification case for Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte who filed his candidacy as substitute to anti-crime advocate Martin Diño.”

“Only Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago would be left to oppose Roxas’ administration- backed candidacy. As last resort, the Aquino administration could utilize the automated elections to favor Roxas’ victory,” Hicap said.

He thus urged “ n o n – a d m i n i s t r a t i o n presidential contenders to unite against the “Only Mar” scenario.” Hicap called on the other presidential aspirants to unite against Roxas who, he noted, “has access to the state machinery which is a big advantage against them.”
