CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The 65th anniversary of the canonical coronation of the Virgen de los Remedios, Pampanga’s patroness on Sept. 8 will be presided by His Excellency Archbishop Charles John Brown, DD, Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines.
According to Fr. Gabriel J. Torres, parish priest of San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish and a true Marian devotee, the apostolic nuncio will be here on a three-day visit. He will arrive on Tuesday (Sep. 7) via the North Luzon Expressway where a “courtesy pickup” was arranged at 9:30 a.m. at the NLEx exit here.
The nuncio will proceed to the Provincial Capitol for the civil reception where he will be hosted to a lunch before checking in at his residence at the Metropolitan Cathedral of San Fernando.
At 5 p.m. he will have an audience with seminarians and formators of the Mother of Good Counsel Seminary. Vespers is set at 6 p,m. and dinner is at 7 p.m. before going back to his residence for the night.
Day 2 of his visit will have him leading the celebration the Holy Mass at 5 a.m. and the re-enactment of the canonical coronation of VDLR and Sto. Cristo del Perdon at the San Vicente Parish Church in Barangay Calulut.
Thereafter, the nuncio will have breakfast before visiting Bahay Pag-Ibig in Barangay Baliti.
Lunch will be served at St. Dominic Village.
Archbishop Brown will also be presented with a heritage tour care of the Archdiocesan Commission on Church Heritage at the San Augustin Parish Church in Lubao, Santiago Apostol Parish Church in Betis, and the San Guillermo Parish Church in Bacolor.
At 5:30 p.m., he will visit the Domus Pastorum at the Social Action Center of Pampanga. Dinner with the vicariate priests is set at 6:30 p,m. before going back to his residence.
On the his last day of the visit, the nuncio will have breakfast with Archbishop Florentino Lavarias and Archbishop Emeritus Paciano Aniceto before going back to the Apostolic Nunciature in Manila.
