This was announced yesterday by two top NPC provincial officials – former three-term solon and now Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) Chair Zeny Ducut and former vice governor and now Agriculture Undersecretary Clayton Olalia.
Dubbed as “Partners Zeny and Clay” when they ran for governor and vice governor, respectively, in 2004, Ducut and Olalia said they will name their candidates for governor, vice governor, board members, mayors, vice mayors and councilors.
“The NPC has been a force to reckon with not just in Pampanga but in the entire country. We expect to do well in the upcoming 2010 elections,” said Olalia.
“We will fill all the available slots for candidates,” he added.
Ducut, NPC chairman in Pampanga, said they will name their candidates late this year following the new rule imposed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on filing certificates of candidacies. The poll body set the filing of candidacy on November this year for the May 2010 elections.
“The NPC is known for having reliable alternatives for every post. We also adhere to loyalty,” said Ducut.
Some of the NPC stalwarts in Pampanga are former three-term solon and now Angeles City Mayor Francis “Blueboy” Nepomuceno and two-term First District Board Member Tars Halili.
