OCPO city director Senior Supt. Melchor B. Cabalza lll identified the suspect as June Caesar Lim Sabangan, 27, native of Pagwadaan, Barangay Madamba, Dingras, Ilocos Norte and with current residence at Apache St. Clark Field, Mabalacat City, Pampanga.
Report said the suspect also known as “JC” has been involved in several criminal activities, including rape and violence against women, is a “notorious robber” of money remittance centers in Luzon, particularly in Bulacan, Cavite, Makati, La Union-Pangasinan and this city.
Sabangan was arrested through the police “Manhunt Charlie Operation” along Parola, Lower Barangay Kalaklan, in this city after a concerned citizen tipped off the police about the presence of a suspicious person within the Parola Beach.
During investigation, the suspect confessed his involvement in the robbery-holdup at the LBC Branch in Lolomboy, Bulacan sometime in 2016, the robbery-holdup with rape at the LBC Branch in General Trias, Cavite sometime in the the third quarter or October 2016 which merited an offer of reward of P50,000 from the LGU of Gen. Trias; robbery- holdup at LBC Branch near the PNR Station, Makati City sometime in the last quarter of 2016 (subject of Regional Trial Court Branch 58 Makati City with Crim. Case No. R-MKT-1701479-CR); robbery-holdup at the LBC Branch in San Fernando City, La Union sometime in August 2017; and robbery-holdup at the LBC Branch along Magsaysay Drive, Barangay East Tapinac, Olongapo City last October 14, 2017, as contained in spot report with Control No. PS3INV-14-10-17-02 dated October 14, 2017).
The suspect is currently detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 of the OCPO.
“The City of Olongapo is not a hiding place for criminals. We keep ourselves on our toes so we can continue implementing our intel-driven operations to apprehend perpetrators of crime who are hiding from authorities through the help of the community. This city will remain peaceful through the strict implementation of the rule of law,” Cabalza said.
