NOLCOM urges Tarlac youth to take part in WPS advocacy

‎TARLAC CITY (PIA) — The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) urged the youth in the province of Tarlac to take part in upholding the country’s sovereignty and territorial right in the West Philippine Sea.

The Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activity was conducted by the AFP 1st Civil Relations Group and Philippine Air Force Tactical Operations Group 3 during the Job Fair and Caravan of Services of the provincial government of Tarlac in line with the celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan.

NOLCOM Commander LtGen. Fernyl Buca reaffirmed their commitment to accurate information dissemination on national security and sovereignty through initiatives such as the IEC.

“NOLCOM, together with its partner agencies and stakeholders, is nevertheless resolute in its internal and external security operations and dedicated to protecting the nation’s territory and sovereignty by disseminating accurate information and carrying out its mission as a Jointly-Engaged, Sustainment-Maintained, and Readiness-Trained Force in pursuit to enduring peace and progress,” he emphasized.

The IEC activity consisted of a photo gallery display, leaflet distribution, and MULAT Audio Visual Presentation.

Recruitment information sheets for the different branches of the AFP were also distributed.

‎As part of the “Post It Support WPS!” initiative of the campaign, participants were also invited to write down their support for the WPS on post-it notes.

Through this campaign, NOLCOM aimed to foster appreciation for the country’s sovereignty and strengthen Filipinos’ understanding of their role in building a peaceful and better nation. (CLJD/AJRR, PIA Region 3-Tarlac)
