ANGELES CITY – The completion of the installation of additional security cameras in 67 sites throughout the city by November 2024 as ordered by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. will leave no blind spots in the city government’s enhanced drive against crimes as well as in addressing road safety.

Lazatin’s chief adviser IC Calaguas on April 25 shared this development over a meeting with Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, Information Communication and Technology Division chief Michael Lising, General Services Office head Evangeline Malonzo, Angeles City Economic Development Investment Promotions OIC Irish Bonus-Llego, and City Engineer OIC Helen Ayro.

Calaguas said that it has been a priority program of Mayor Lazatin to implement advanced technology in addressing public safety.

With this move, she said, Mayor Lazatin underscored his commitment to proactive measures for further crime prevention, as well as law enforcement and emergency response.

Calaguas added that the mayor is also encouraging barangay officials and homeowners’ associations to complement this by installing cameras in all barangay roads and subdivisions in order to prevent small time akyat-bahay criminals from preying on innocent kababayans.

To date, the city government, through the Angeles City Emergency Disaster Command Center, has a total of 186 closed-circuit television cameras installed in the City, including 62 PTZ Camera Spec 8mp with 36x optical zoom with wide dynamic range;14 bullet cameras 4mp with wide dynamic range; and fully fiber optic cable.
