BALANGA CITY — No adverse effect was noted among those who have been vaccinated against the coronavirus disease in Bataan.
This, according to Dr. Roberto Luneta, chief of professional staff of the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center here.
Luneta was supervising the third day of vaccination Wednesday at the government–run BGHMC annex in this city.
Asked if there were adverse reactions noted among those already vaccinated with both CoronaVac and AstraZeneca, he said: “Ang mga nakikita natin is natural response ng body. May masakit na injection, natatakot, tumataas ng kaunti ang blood pressure.”
“Siyempre, normal na reaksyon ng katawan yon kasi nandoon din ang pag-aatubili pero wala naman masamang nagiging reaksyon,” he added.
Inoculation was still exclusive for medical frontliners of the BGHMC. The hospital was designated as exclusive facility for Covid–19 patients.
Luneta said 373 medical frontliners were scheduled for vaccination Wednesday. He said those to be vaccinated were already identified and with respective assigned numbers for the smooth flow of the inoculation process.
Reports from the provincial government showed that 326 doses of CoronaVac were already consumed and the remaining 91 doses to be used this Wednesday.
The Department of Health delivered in Bataan 417 doses of CoronaVac Saturday and 1,420 doses of AstraZeneca Monday. Vaccination using CoronaVac started Monday while that of AstraZeneca began Wednesday.
Luneta said their plan was to vaccinate the remaining nurses and allied professional services of BGHMC and then to be followed by medical frontliners from other government hospitals in the province.
“Tuloy-tuloy ang pagbibigay namin ng bakuna dahil ang allotted time sa amin ay one week para matapos ang pagbabakuna sa lahat ng medical frontliners sa Bataan,” the doctor said.
BGHMC midwife Corazon San Jose and nurse Jhona Joyce Talastas said they both took AstraZeneca vaccines and they felt alright.
“Hindi naman maiiwasan sa una ang matakot pero para sa safety at protection ay nagpa–vaccine ako. Mahigit isang oras na matapos akong mabigyan ng vaccine ay wala naman akong nararamdamang kakaiba,” Talastas said.
“Kasi mga frontliners kami kaya kinakailangan na mas mauna kaming bigyan kaysa sa iba,” San Jose said.
Other frontliners sharing their experience on the vaccination at the lobby of the BGHMC annex, former old Bataan Capitol, said they were all feeling well.
