SUBIC, Zambales – The No. 7 in the Central Luzon police’s drug watchlist and two cohorts were arrested by operatives of the local police in Barangay Mangan-vaca here Monday evening.
In his report to Zambales provincial police director Col. Ponce Rogelio Peñones, Jr., Subic police chief Captain Rolando Ballon identified the suspects as Rico Dagamat y Asadon, 33, listed No. 7 in Region 3’s drug watchlist, of Purok 3C, Sitio Tahimik, Barangay Calapacuan; Mary Rose Cababan y Reyna, 25, of Purok 3, Barangay Calapacuan; and Jherwin Bautista y Vargas, alias Bawaw, 33, of Purok 3, Barangay Mangan-vaca, all in Subic town.
The report said that about 7:30 p.m., joint operatives of the Subic Municipal Police Station, Zambales 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company and Provincial Intelligence Unit of Zambales Provincial Police Office conducted drug operation in Barangay Mangan-Vaca and arrested the three suspects selling sachet of shabu worth P1,000 to a police poseur–buyer.
Aside from the sachet of shabu in the buy-bust and the P1,000 marked money, police recovered from the suspect 20 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 50 grams, a digital weighing scale, a black pouch bag, a .38 special pistol with serial no. 982298, 14 pieces of live ammunition for .38 special, a black sling bag, an iTel S15 black android cellphone, and a hand grenade.
All suspects were detained at Subic PNP detention cell facing charges for violation of Sec. 5, 11, and 26 (b) of Article II of RA 9165, RA 10591, and RA 9516 (Illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and explosive).
