CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — National Nutrition Council (NNC) invites tertiary students in Central Luzon to join its first-ever film making competition.

NNC 3 Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator Ana Maria Rosaldo said this is part of the celebration of the 48th Nutrition Month, which carries the theme “New normal na Nutrisyon, Sama-samang gawan ng Solusyon”.

“Through this film making contest, the youth will be given an opportunity to express their creativity and share their stories in nutrition using visual arts. At the same time, they can use this to raise awareness and educate their fellow youth and the public towards a better nutrition situation in the country and in the new normal setting,” she said.

The contest is open to all students enrolled in tertiary level in educational institutions located in Central Luzon.

“Each team must be composed of five to 15 members including the production team, and must be from the same school or organization. They must also fill-out and submit the application form [https://tinyurl.com/2022NM-FMRegistration] and parental consent for minors [https://tinyurl.com/2022NM-FMConsent],” Rosaldo said.

Entries must be within a minimum of three minutes to a maximum of 15 minutes running time, and must be related to the 2022 Nutrition Month theme.

Those who are interested may upload their entries on Youtube and submit thru email at centralluzonnm2022@gmail.com the You Tube link or URL of video and the parental consent for minor participants until 5:00PM of July 22,2022. The subject of the email must include the title of the entry, local government unit, and name of school.

Rosaldo said that this is also in recognition of the capability and reach of social media and visual arts as one of the major key channels to inform, advocate, and influence positively the perception of the public and bring about behavior change among families to improve the nutrition situation in Central Luzon.

Entries shall be judged based on the following criteria: creativity and originality – 20 percent; cinematography and editing – 15 percent; audio and music quality – 15 percent; content and adherence to the theme – 20 percent; and message effectiveness – 30 percent.

Winners will be announced during the Nutrition Month culminating activity on July 29, 2022.

The first-place winner takes home P8,000; second prize – P5,000; and third prize – P3,000. Each will receive a certificate of recognition.

Also, special prizes will be given including P1,000 for the most number of views; and P2,000 each for the most number of shares, and most number of reactions. (CLJD/MJSC-PIA 3)
