NLEX Corporation successfully concluded the third NLEX Lakbay Norte media tour this year, held from November 25 to 27, 2025. This focused three-day lifestyle road trip traversed Tarlac and Nueva Ecija, highlighting the provinces’ unique historical sites, burgeoning agri-tourism landscapes, and noteworthy dining spots—each made effortlessly accessible via the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX).
The NLEX Lakbay Norte program once again reaffirmed NLEX Corporation’s commitment to driving domestic tourism and supporting local economies, proving that Central Luzon offers some of the country’s most compelling short-haul destinations.
The itinerary was thoughtfully organized to appeal to every type of traveler, with destinations curated for history enthusiasts, culinary adventurers, and relaxation seekers. The tour began with an exclusive peek into operational efficiency at the SCTEX Traffic Control Room, showcasing the technology that ensures safe and seamless travel.

Historical and Architectural Highlights
The NLEX Lakbay Norte trip provided significant historical context, primarily highlighting Tarlac’s important role in Philippine history. The team visited the WWII Japanese Tunnels in Bamban, a poignant site that offers deep insight into the region’s past. Participants also viewed the historical marker at the Capas Train Station, which commemorates its significance during the war and its role in early rail transportation. In Pura, the group visited the strikingly modern Jose Maria Escriva Church, which features the first-ever drive-through access to the Blessed Sacrament in Asia.


Culinary & Agri-Tourism Gems
The tour placed a strong emphasis on the provinces’ strengths as food destinations and leaders in agri-tourism. In Tarlac, participants enjoyed local dining at Café Sou (Bamban) and Café Josefina (Capas), as well as a meal at Feliz Restaurant and Café (Gerona).



In Nueva Ecija, dubbed the “Rice Granary of the Philippines,” the itinerary highlighted key stops vital to the local food chain. The team was warmly welcomed by Talavera Mayor Aries Vincent Patrick Gaboy Lim before proceeding with their scheduled visits. The group conducted courtesy calls at the Talavera LGU and showcased local produce at DVF Dairy Farm. They also enjoyed local dining at Erlinda’s Restaurant in Talavera and Kardeli All-Day Breakfast in the Science City of Muñoz. The group capped off their culinary exploration with a visit to Milka Krem, a premier destination for carabao milk–based products, followed by afternoon snacks and local flavors at Rancho Antigo.



Adventure & Leisure Escapes
To ensure a balanced experience, the itinerary included several stops dedicated to natural beauty and leisure. In Tarlac, the trip featured the highly anticipated visit to Canarem Lake and Bird Sanctuary in Victoria, a tranquil reserve ideal for nature photography and birdwatching. Accommodation stops were destinations in themselves, including La Maja Rica Hotel, known for its elegant ambiance,comfortable amenities and relaxing environment amidst the busy Tarlac City.Luisita Central Park Hotel, on the other hand, offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by lush landscapes, ideal for unwinding after a day of touring. For adrenaline and fun, the team visited Kart City for an evening of kart racing, dining, billiards, and bowling.


In Nueva Ecija, the final leg of the journey included a relaxing check-in and shoot at the scenic Lake Farm De La Marre Agri-Tourism Park in Pantabangan. The tour also featured a visit to George Point, offering picturesque vistas overlooking Pantabangan Lake.
