Nigerian national nabbed, P1.95-M kush seized

ANGELES CITY — High grade marijuana popularly known as kush worth P1,950,000 was seized by authorities during a controlled delivery operation launched against a Nigerian national in Barangay Cutcut here Thursday afternoon.

Police identified the suspect as one Madu Adu Ogechi Uzoma of Concubierta St., Sunset Valley Mansions, Barangay Cutcut.

Authorities said the package containing the illegal drugs came from Greenwich, Connecticut, USA and arrived at the Port of Clark last April 29.

The shipment was subjected to K9 sweeping and physical examination which gave positive indication of illicit drugs.

Madu yielded some 1,500 grams of kush with street value of P1,950,00.

The operation was conducted by joint anti-narcotic operatives led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 3, Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark and the local police.

The suspect now face charges for violation of Section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165.
