Ernest Vidal, NGCP regional communications offi cer in Central Luzon, said the major projects are the 500 kilovoltage Hermosa (Bataan)-Castillejos (Zambales) line and the 500 KV Hermosa-San Jose (Bulacan) line.
“Naglalayon itong pagtibayin na lalong mas maging reliable ang transmission lines at para ma-accommodate ang additional power generation sa Bataan at Zambales na sumusuporta sa central Luzon at Metro Manila,” he said.
Vidal said NGCP is readying the additional transmission lines in preparation for the operation of new sources of energy from the SMC Consolidated Power Corp. Coal-Fired Power Plant and GN Coal- Fired Power Plant in Bataan and KEPCO-HIC-CFPP and AG & P Power Plant in Zambales.
He said that many others are signifying desire to put up power plants in the two provinces but these are those that will be operating soon.
Vidal said the transmission lines are under raw acquisition and pre-construction periods and targeted to be operational by 2019 – 2020.
Felicidad Francisco, NGCP communications officer for Bataan, Zambales, Bulacan and Rizal provinces, said NGCP in Hermosa has present transmission capacity of 230 KV (Botolan-Hermosa) and 69 KV (Hermosa-Lubao, Pampanga) lines.
“These cater to the energy presently supplied by power plants in Bataan and Zambales,” she said.
She said that there is no shortage of power supply in the country especially in the transmission side. “Properly maintained ang mga transmission lines at tuloy-tuloy ang daloy ng kuryente,” Francisco said.
The two communications officers asked the help of those who will be affected by NGCP’s expansion programs for full cooperation “to hasten the early completion of projects.”
