CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – “I want the police to maintain respect for the people they are serving.”
Thus said Senior Supt. Rwin Pagkalinawan when asked about his priorities as newly-installed police director of Pampanga.
Pagkalinawan, former comptroller at Camp Olivas, said he had made rounds of the 19 towns and two cities and told police chiefs and their men that “they must treat people well.”
“I had a friend who became a member of the New People’s Army after experiencing maltreatment from police while complaining about an accident involving his son. I don’t want that to happen again,” said Pagkalinawan, who earlier was assigned as police chief in Bulacan and Laguna.
Pagkalinawan, graduate of the Phillipine Military Academy in 1988, said he had also asked his 1,045 personnel to win the trust and confidence of residents in their respective area by “performing well and beyond the call of duty.”
Pagkalinawan said he had also asked police chiefs to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs.
