CLARK FREEPORT – New Pinoy-pop girl group BINI has recently released its debut single Born to Win with a special collection of renditions as announced during its online press conference via Zoom on Thursday.
BINI is composed of eight “binibinis” hailing from different provinces across the country namely: Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena. They were trained for two years under ABS-CBN’S Star Hunt Academy which prepares and grooms talents for international stardom.
According to the group, being part of BINI has been surreal as they didn’t expect their experiences and activities from training and practices to photo shoots and collaborations with different Filipino artists and share their journey even amid the pandemic.
“Yung debut po namin sobrang daming delay because of the pandemic. Iniisip nalang po namin na advantage to kasi makakapag prepare pa kami ng mas matagal and mas maayos,” said Stacey, BINI’s main rapper and lead dancer.
“As much as possible we want to include our culture in our songs and also the messages in our songs. We want it to be inspirational and relatable, to embrace your imperfections,” shared Mikha, main rapper, lead dancer, and visual.
“Karamihan sa mga supporters namin ngayon kasing-age namin. Gusto po namin maging ehemplo na simulan at abutin ng mas maaga yung dreams nyo,” added Jhoanna, leader, lead vocal, and rapper of the group.
Since the group’s official launch last June, Born to Win has now recorded over 870,000 views on YouTube and over 300,000 streams on Spotify.
BINI will further expand Born to Win by releasing foreign language versions which will be recorded in Bahasa, Thai, Japanese, and Spanish. The Maxi Single is now available digitally on major streaming services.
BINI fans dubbed as “blooms” can look forward to the group’s activities for this year as they prepare for the release of their debut album which features their original songs and a joint concert with their brother group BGYO.
BINI was initially known for their pre-debut single “Da Coconut Nut” which went viral on social media for their TV performances that earned praises from both local and international fans.
