CABIAO, Nueva Ecija – Gov. Aurelio Umali led the groundbreaking ceremonies for the construction of a new public market that is expected to uplift the condition of both vendors and consumers in Barangay San Roque here on Monday.
Mayor Ramil Rivera said the provincial government donated P10 million for the project.
The sangguniang bayan also threw its full support to the project.
“Ang proyektong ito ay para sa mga mamamayan ng ating bayang Cabiao,” Umali said, adding that Rivera had been requesting all for the people’s welfare. “Kaya importante na sila po ay magkaroon ng isang lugar kung saan ang kanilang mga hanapbuhay ay magkaroon po ng katuparan,” the governor said referring to vendors who presently occupy different places.
The construction is expected to be completed by December.
“Masayang-masaya dahil yung hinihiling natin kay governor ay ibinigay na niya,” Rivera said. “Malaking tulong po ito kasi yung ating palengke ay hiwa-hiwalay e. So, dahil po dun sa ibinigay ni governor ay magkakasama-sama na po yung mga tindera sa isang lugar.“
Marilou Flores, president of the Cabiao vendors association, said the project will definitely improve their condition as well as the market system.
