ANGELES CITY (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has officially opened the newly constructed bridge over the Abacan River, enhancing connectivity and easing traffic congestion in Angeles City.

DPWH Pampanga 3rd District Engineer Arnold Ocampo said the project is designed for durability, featuring bored pile foundations, piers, abutments, and a reinforced deck slab.

He added that the bridge includes approach roads, intersections, and pedestrian-friendly features such as sidewalks and guardrails to improve safety and accessibility.

Now fully operational, the new Abacan Bridge significantly boosts mobility in Angeles City.

It supports economic activity, facilitates emergency response, and contributes to urban development, while providing a faster route that improves transport access for residents and businesses, ensuring smoother passage for all. (CLJD/MAECR, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
