BALANGA City: Col. Marites Salvadora, new Officer-in-Charge of the Bataan Police Provincial Office, has conducted an ocular inspection of Mount Samat in Pilar, Bataan to check on preparations for the 83rd Araw ng Kagitingan on April 9.
President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., foreign dignitaries and other officials, including World War II veterans and their kin, are expected to attend the annual rites at the Dambana ng Kagitingan.
Salvadora said the visit aimed to assess security preparations, deployment strategies, and logistical requirements to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the annual event, which honors the bravery and sacrifices of Filipino and American soldiers during World War II.
Joining the new Bataan OIC provincial director in the inspection were Lt. Col. Alfredo Solomon, Jr., deputy provincial director for operations and Major Dennis Duran, acting chief for operations and other police officials.
Salvadora last Thursday took over the command of the Bataan police provincial office vice Col. Palmer Tria.
