NE’s capital city sends relief to Bicol

Relief goods from Palayan City to typhoon-ravaged Camarines Sur.

ALAYAN CITY The local government in this capital city of Nueva Ecija recently ferried P1-million worth of food packages for victims of Typhoon Rolly in Camarines Sur.

Reports said that upon the initiative of Mayor Rianne Cuevas, truckloads of food items from this city were delivered by the Palayan City Rescue Team to the provincial government of Camarines Sur, one of the areas devastated by the onslaught of Rolly.

This city has traditionally been helping calamity victims in different parts of the country.

The mayors initiative has earned support from her constituents. “Mayor Rianne is truly a great model of kindness, generosity and concern for the needy,” a social media post read.

Cabanatuan Citys Barangay Pagas delivered on Nov. 9 some 1,000 sacks of relief goods to Barangays San Francisco, Travesia, and Tandarora in Guinobatan, Albay and Sto. Domingo in Milaor, Camarines Sur.

Pagas barangay chairman Christopher Lee said the goods which were partly donated by their constituents were distributed to typhoon victims after his party paid a courtesy call on Mayor Ann Yap Ongjoco of Guinobatan.

Each sack contained 5 kilos of rice, sardines, noodles, 3in1 coffee, 4 pieces of toothbrush, mineral water,new mats, slippers, used clothes, and vegetables.
