ANGELES CITY – The city government through its tourism office hosted a delegation from the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental for a day of cultural immersion, heritage exploration, and a hands-on culinary experience.

Led by its chief Louie Lazatin, the Angeles City Tourism Office (ACTO) in partnership with Kuliat Foundation Inc. greeted the guests with the distinctive warmth that the city is known for. The delegation included Negros Occidental board member Arthur Christopher Marañon who chairs the committee on tourism, along with provincial tourism officer Cheryl Decena, and other dignitaries.

The tour began in Angeles City’s Heritage District, where guests walked through a living timeline of the city’s storied past. They visited the National Museum of Social History (the former Pamintuan Mansion), which offered a window into the social and historical tapestry of the Kapampangans. The group then paused for a moment of reflection at Holy Rosary Parish, a religious landmark that stands in the heart of the city.

Next on the itinerary was Museo ning Angeles, where the guests explored local history and culture through the indigenous Kapampangan writing system called Kulitan, curated exhibits and artifacts. The afternoon culminated with an interactive food demonstration at the newly completed Culinarium by Hann Foundation, showcasing the Angeleño way of cooking. Participants rolled up their sleeves to prepare and cook their own sisig, experiencing the iconic Angeles City dish firsthand as they participated in a live demonstration of the sizzling sisig craft.

“The visit is a wonderful opportunity to exchange culture and tourism insights between Negros Occidental and Angeles City,” said Lazatin. “Our guests experienced not only our heritage and hospitality but also the world-class culinary scene that makes Angeles City a unique destination for both domestic and international visitors.”

ACTO expressed hope that this encounter would pave the way for future cross-provincial tours, knowledge exchange, and joint tourism initiatives that showcase the rich diversity of the region. Angeles CIO
