CABANATUAN CITY – Robredo People’s Council, the core group of organizations working for the team of presidential bet Vice President Leni Robredo and her team, assailed the claim of presidential hopeful Sen. Panfilo Lacson that their March 22 venue could only accommodate 2,000 people.
“We strongly condemn Sen. Ping Lacson’s irresponsible and incorrect insinuation that the final crowd count for the aNEhan: Nueva Ecija People’s Rally is propaganda for VP’s presidential bid,” said the group in their official social media account Sunday afternoon.
As organizers, they said, they got the crowd estimate from the local police and rescue team on the ground.
“50,000 Novo Ecijanos showed up in Cabanatuan to support VP Leni and Sen. Kiko Pangilinan all with the shared belief in Gobyernong Tapat Angat Buhay Lahat,” they added.
The venue was the provincial oval at the back of Nueva Ecija High School between Burgos and Gen. Tinio Sreets here.
The organizers said they were insulted with Lacson’s statement, “especially as we support the only candidate who has proven record of honesty and transparency.”
