CABANATUAN CITY – Nueva Ecija 3rd Dist. Rep. Ria Vergara praised the late Pres.
Fidel V. Ramos citing his achievements in arresting the problem on brownouts
that hit the country in early ’90s.
Vergara, wife of city Vice Mayor Jay Vergara, said she is one with every Filipino
who mourns the passing of Ramos.
a social media post.
Vergara also shared in her post photographs of Ramos gracing the inauguration of
the First Cabanatuan Ventures Corp. where she served as president and CEO in
February 1996.
said.
nararanasang rotational brownouts.”
The extension of the Build Operate Transfer (BOT) Law which opened an avenue
for private sector to participate in an effort of solving power crisis as independent
power producers also served as an opportunity to meet each other.
Inaugurated then was their 12.6-megawatt power generating plant here.
“President Ramos said every Filipino is a part of nation building and he thanked
me for heeding his call to resolve the power crisis of the country,” the lady solon
added.
buong bansa kabilang na ako,” Vergara said. “President Ramos will be greatly
missed.”
tulad niya – his vision, his ‘can do attitude’ and strong but fair leadership,” she
said.
