CABANATUAN CITY –– At least 30 wanted persons were arrested by operatives in a stepped–up drive of the Nueva Ecija police provincial office from November 16 to 23.
Nueva Ecija police director Col. Marvin Joe Saro said on Monday that those arrested included two facing rape charges in the towns of Licab and Cabiao, two accused of violating Republic Act 9262 or Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children in San Leonardo and Talugtog, and one person facing charges for acts of lasciviousness in Cuyapo.
Also brought to the jurisdiction of various Nueva Ecija courts were four people charged of robbery in San Jose, Rizal, and Sto. Domingo; two of qualified theft in this city and San Antonio; six for estafa here, San Isidro, Talavera, Science City of Munoz, and Gapan City; one for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and double physical injuries in Sta. Rosa; one for frustrated murder in Gen. Tinio.
Saro said the arrests were a result of an intensified campaign against all forms of criminalities in response to the call of Gov. Aurelio Umali to ensure peace and order in the province.
“The arrests of these wanted persons are results of the intensified efforts on Manhunt Charlie operations in line with the guidance of (Central Luzon Police regional director) Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon to have aggressive crackdown against wanted persons and lawless elements, and put them behind the bars of justice,” Saro said.
The arrested persons are now under the custody of respective police stations which implemented the arrest for proper disposition while waiting for commitment order from the court.
