PALAYAN CITY – The mayor of this Nueva Ecija capital city expressed support to a resolution urging President Duterte to run for vice president in 2022.
Mayor Adrianne Mae Cuevas also called on her partymates in PDP-Laban to support whoever Duterte would endorse as standard bearer for president.
“Bilang isang mamamayang Pilipino, ako po ay naniniwalang kailangan ng ating bansa ang pagpapatuloy ng mga programa at polisiya na inilatag ng ating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na nagdulot ng malaking pagbabago at pag–unlad sa ating mga kababayan,” Cuevas said in a social media post before dawn Friday, March 12.
Cuevas, who made a name for herself in sharing Covid-response tools such as PPEs, swab and rapid testing kits, as well as and trainings, to other local government units, hosted the mass oath-taking of some 5,000 local officials from Nueva Ecija to PDP-Laban in 2017.
“Bilang isang tagapagtaguyod ng aming partidong PDP-Laban, sumusuporta po ako sa resolusyon na naghihimok kay Pamgulong Duterte na tumakbo bilang pangalawamg pangulo sa darating na eleksyon sa 2022,” she added.
Cuevas also appealed to their party mates and allies to join the call for Duterte to run for the country’s second highest position. “Dahil ako po ay naniniwalang makabubuti sa sambayanan ang paggabay niPangulong Duterte sa susunod na magiging pangulo,” she said.
The mayor’s call was accompanied with a photograph of her speaking at Fort Ramon Magsaysay which general headquarters is situated in this city.
