TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija – “It’s positive! Sana girl (joke!).”
This was how Mayor Nerivi Santos-Martinez, a widow, of this first-class municipality announced via social media her being positive of the coronavirus disease on Tuesday.
Martinez said she tested positive in an antigen testing Tuesday morning despite taking precautionary measures against the virus.
“Well, we’ll miss each other for a few days. Palagay ko maganda din paminsan-minsan na di tayo nagkikita para nasasabik tayo sa isa’t isa, tama? Ganyan kase sa mag-jowa,” the local chief executive who is running for vice mayor in the forthcoming elections said.
She said Omicron variant is really highly transmissible.
“Anyway, no worries po at ok lang ako. Nakatulong na ako ay fully vaccinated, actually boosted na din. May ubo at sore throat lang pero I make sure na kahit may Covid ay maganda pa din ako. Pinapasaya ko lang po kayo, joke lang yon (half meant hahaha),” she added.
