CABANATUAN CITY – With a vow to keep close ties with every stakeholder in the fight against criminality and insurgency, a new director took over the Nueva Ecija police office Friday.
Col. Jaime Santos, immediate past chief of police ofSan Juan City in Metro Manila, replaced Col. Marvin Joe Saro in simple turnover ceremonies.
“Hindi po ako uuwi,” Santos said, announcing he will hold office daily, including weekends.
The new provincial cop chief said police visibility will be intensified along with the campaign against illegal drugs, crackdown on crime gangs and loose firearms,and implementation of the program to end local communist armed conflict, “in line with the order of PNP Chief Gen. (Debold) Sinas.”
“Kailangan po na maramdaman ng tao na sincere ang kapulisan, magagalang ang mga pulis, at sana hindi ma-involve ang mga pulis sa illegal acts,” he added.
He also promised to coordinate closely with the media and local officials.
The turnover ceremonies were officiated by Col. Joyce Patrick Sangalang on behalf of Police Regional Office3 director Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon.
