JAEN, Nueva Ecija – A 63-year-old contractor-engineer survived a gun attack by unidentified men on board a white sedan in Barangay Sapang here shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday.

Police identified the victim as Ramir dela Cruz, resident of Barangay San Pablo, also of this municipality.

Investigation disclosed Dela Cruz was taking lunch with two other persons under a tent on his lot he is developing for a gasoline station when the suspects opened fire with still unspecified caliber.

“As a result, the victim sustained injury,” police reported.

Other sources said the victim was hit in the neck and face. He was brought to a hospital in Cabanatuan City.

The suspects fled toward south direction, according a sketchy police report.

It was the second gun attack in this town in less than a month. On Dec. 27, municipal councilor Santy Matias was hurt in an ambush staged by riding-in-tandem suspects.
