PALAYAN CITY – The provincial board, led by Vice Gov. Anthony Umali approved on Monday the purchase of P6-million worth of hospital equipment using funds earlier downloaded from the national government.

Approved during the sangguniamg panlalawigan’s 22nd regular session was the purchase of equipment from the medical, dental and laboratory expenses under Bayanihan Grant to Provinces.

Among these hospital equipment that are expected to boost Covid-19 response are one brand new portable X-ray machine, three refurbished portable X-ray machines, ten syringe pumps, two temperature checkers, hand sanitizers, and all-in-one photo recorder, reports said.

2nd District board member Joseph Ortiz said the equipment can be used by Novo Ecijanos even beyond the coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, Cabanatuan City is back to zero cases of active Covid-19, a report by the city information and tourism office showed.

According to CITO, all of the 21 confi rmed COVID-19 cases in the city have fully recovered as of June 22.

Eleven people, however, are under home quarantine and one is currently admitted in a facility under the category of suspect.
