CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The official campaign period for the May 2019 elections is still far off but already a number of candidates have been assured of victory, at the close of the filing of their certificates of candidacy.
Almost all the entire slate of the Kambilan Party in the race for the provincial board are running unopposed.
Leading the unopposed candidates is Gov. Lilia “Nanay Baby” G. Pineda, Kambilan chair, who will be running for the vice gubernatorial position.
The members of the first, second and third district provincial board are also shoo-ins, led by re-electionist board members Cherry Manalo and Benny Jocson in the first district.
Pampanga Mayors League president Lubao Mayor Mylyn P. Cayabyab and Philippines Councilors’ League-Pampanga Chapter president Fritzie D. Dizon join sure-winner re-electionist board member Tonton Torres in the second district.
In the third district, board members Rosve Henson, Ananias “Jun” Canlas, Jr. and Ferdinand “Dinan” Labung appeared to have a patent for their positions.
In Lubao, Kambilan mayoralty candidate Esmie Pineda and her running mate Jay Montemayor are also unopposed.
Mayor Annette Balgan of Macabebe is running unopposed for vice mayor while Mayor Dan Guinto of Masantol is unopposed in seeking reelection. Both are from Kambilan.
