Thus, Pinoy Gumising Ka Movement (PGKM) Chair Ruperto Cruz tagged Manila International Airport Authority General Manager Jose Angel Honrado.
Cruz said the most honorable thing for Honrado to do at this point is just to resign from his post in the light of the negative publicity the Philippines is generating because of the notorious modus operandi dubbed “tanim-bala (plant bullet)” foisted on hapless overseas Filipino workers suspected criminal syndicates operating at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
“By virtue of the doctrine of command responsibility, Honrado should not wait for President Aquino to fire him and resign immediately,” Cruz said.
“He was reported to be sickly but yet he holds two jobs as MIAA GM and director of the Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC). His refusal to resign is a sign of disrespect to President Aquino,” Cruz said.
“The NAIA has been described as one of the worst airports in the world by international standards under Honrado’s watch and now he even adds to the worst classification with criminals operating with impunity at the NAIA victimizing no less than our beloved OFWs,” he said.
Foremost, Honrado should have presented to the media the airport policemen and their victims and their names published so the people may know to erase any cloud of doubt, Cruz said.
But sadly, the names of the apprehending policemen are known only to the social media, he said.
“When Honrado came to Clark, flights were gone. Now bullets are suddenly appearing at NAIA where he is the general manager,” Cruz said describing Honrado as a “magician.”
On Monday, President Aquino called a meeting where he directed Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya to conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged tanim-bala scam at the NAIA.
Honrado said he would not resign unless the President, his cousin who appointed him, tells him to do so.
