Department of Transportation (DOTr) Assistant Secretary for Right of Way and Site Acquisition IC Calaguas met with Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon on Sept. 2, 2025 for the North South Commuter Railway South Extension.
In the meeting held at the Muntinlupa Mayor’s Office, the parties tackled concerns like permits, barangay clearance, among others.
Calaguas emphasized that NSCR will not be completed without the full support of Local Government Units.
Mayor Biazon has expressed support for the project after Calaguas requested the LGU’s backing, paving the way for the project’s success.
Also attending the meeting with Calaguas from DOTr were Project Manager Janina Capistrano, Deputy Project Manager Eleseo Geron, Contract Manager Zam Bacudio-Domdom, Contract Manager Jhumar Pugao, and Deputy Project Manager for ROWSAE Ralph Gonzales.
Mayor Biazon was accompanied by Barangay Captains Raffy Sevilla (Sucat), Randy Rongavilla (Buli), Dave Arcilla (Tunasan), Barangay Secretaries Joel De Mesa (Alabang) and Edgar Mariñas (Tunasan).
Also joining them were Engr. Romar Dagupan (Assistant City Engineer), Engr. Elizabeth Magpantay (Rep, City Engineering Dept.), EnP. Alvin F. Veron (Head, CPDO), Shienna Hernandez (Head, UPAO), Lorna B. Misa (Head, ESC), Danidon Nolasco (Head, MTMB), Ar. Francis Vincent Manila (Rep, CPDO), and representatives from Barangays Putatan, Poblacion, and Cupang.
PNR General Manager Deovanni Miranda was also in attendance.
President Marcos ordered the DOTr, led by Secretary Giovanni Lopez, to accelerate the NSCR’s construction.
