MABALACAT CITY – Coinciding with the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Mother Teresa of Calcutta Medical Center (MTCMC) launched its Breast Care Center as a vital addition in completing its Women’s Health Center on October 18.

MTCMC is the first hospital in Central Luzon to house a digital breast tomosynthesis or the 3D Mammogram.

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women worldwide as MTCMC aims to be the primary referral center for breast diseases in Region 3.

MTCMC Breast Care Center can now provide better access to breast cancer prevention and early detection. It also includes the breast ultrasound section and aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery clinic.

The launch is also a celebration of another milestone for MTCMC to further expand its reach and to be able to touch more lives through expert care.

The ribbon cutting ceremony and blessing was attended by MTCMC president Noel M. Cortez, MTCMC clinical services director Dr. Analyn Serrano-Reyes, Director for Clinical Services, and MTCMC medical director Dr. Noel Evangelista.

To continuously raise public awareness about the dreaded disease amongst women, a recorded message from Vice President Leni Robredo was also presented during the program to complete the event.
