MOU for Pampanga transport hub signed

    CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – For the convenience of the commuting public, a memorandum of understanding was signed at the Capitol Executive House here on Monday between the provincial and city governments and St. Catherine Realty Corp. (SCRC) as well as various transport stakeholders for the establishment of the Pampanga Transport Hub.

    Gov. Lilia G. Pineda said the transport terminal will also be a venue to showcase native Kapampangan products.

    Dubbed, “Salilungan and Pasalubong Center,” the transport terminal is located at the corner of JASA (formerly Olongapo- Gapan Road) and Lazatin Boulevard.

    Mayor Edwin S. Santiago said the best products of not only the cities and municipalities of Pampanga but also down to the barangay levels can be showcased at the center.

    Also present during the brief ceremony were City Councilors Ato Agustin and Celestino Dizon, whose family owns SCRC which developed the property where the transport hub is located, as well as officials of SCRC, Federation of Transport Groups, Genesis Bus Transit, Victory Liner, Baliwag Bus Transit, Bataan Transit and Saulog Transit.

    Royce Pring, transport hub manager, said the commuting public can now look forward to a more secure and convenient place where they can eat, relax and even shop while waiting for their rides.
