If you’re a first-time motorcycle rider, one of the essential parts to consider for its maintenance are the tires.

Here is a quick guide to introduce the right tires for the right bike.

Sport tires

Made with softer material, sport tires are lighter than most types of tires. They offer exceptional grip and handling on paved roads. They also warm up fast, which prevents cold tearing and allows the tires to function much better quickly. This combination makes sport tires perfect for daily riding.

Scooter tires

Designed for used by scooters and other smaller and lighter motorcycles, scooter tires are on the lightweight end of the tire spectrum. Perfect for city riding, these tires are ideal for daily commutes on paved roads.

Touring tires

Touring tires are made for long rides, offering balanced handling, and enhanced comfort. They offer excellent performance when cornering, and has good treadwear, ensuring that they can last a very long time. Designed with endurance in mind, this type of tire is ideal for long rides in all weather condition.

Cruiser tires

Cruiser tires are like touring bikes in that they’re built for longevity and endurance making them ideal for long adventure rides. However, while touring bikes are good for cornering, cruiser tires offer exceptional stability when riding in a straight line.  Made from a tougher material, cruiser tires are built to withstand the weight and pressure of larger motorcycles.

Off-road tires

For terrains that aren’t paved roads, nothing can beat off-road tires. Designed to provide excellent performance for off-road use, these tires are made to withstand constant pressure from harsh, uneven, and unpredictable surfaces, whether in rough or soft terrain. Its durability and ability to handle constant pressure make it a must-have for riders who frequently explore off-road trails.

Dual sport tires

Designed for long-distance rides, dual sport tires ensure a smooth riding experience on paved roads while still providing good performance over rough terrain. This versatility makes it a popular choice for riders who frequently travel on a mix of road conditions.

Track / Racing Tres

Specifically designed and engineered for racing on closed circuits. Also designed with advanced rubber compounds and tread patterns to provide maximum grip, allowing riders to corner with confidence and accelerate out of turns with ease. These tires are specialized for specific driving conditions and are not recommended for everyday use, especially in wet weather.

These are some of the most common types of tires used by motorcycles. Picking the right one for you not only helps prolong the life of your motorcycle, but also ensures safer and more enjoyable rides!
