OLONGAPO CITY– Elements of the Zambales Provincial Highway Patrol Team Zambales arrested a suspected carnapper following the recovery of a stolen motorcycle in Sitio Balingkanding, Barangay Lipay, Palauig town on Sept. 7.
PHPT Zambales officer Major Lester Zafra identified the suspect as Jomel Villanueva y Arconado, 23, of Barangay Gordon Heights, Olongapo City.
Report said that at about 6 p.m. on Aug. 26, the owner of the motorcycle Jerwig Bugarin parked his motorcycle within the premises of his boarding house located at No. 147B, Gordon Avenue, Barangay Kalalake and went to his home in San Felipe, Zambales. When he returned at about 8 p.m. of Aug. 27, he discovered that his motorcycle was missing prompting to report the incident at the barangay hall.
Through CCTV footage from the barangay hall, Bugarin positively identified the suspect driving his motorcycle.
Bugarin sought assistance from Zambales PHPT and accompanied them to the suspect residence in Sitio Balingkanding, Barangay Lipay, where they found the stolen Yamaha Sniper 150 with no plate number.
The motorcycle was impounded while the suspect now faces a carnapping case.
