ABUCAY, Bataan — Police arrested the most wanted person for the crime of rape, ranked 1 under the municipal level and ranked 2 under the provincial level, and one suspect for loose firearm in separate raids here Monday.

In a report to Bataan police director Col. Palmer Tria, Abucay police chief Maj. Jonathan Mostoles said that the 61-year-old accused of rape of Barangay Laon in Abucay was apprehended in Barangay Salian, also in Abucay, by virtue of a warrant, of arrest.

Mostoles said that the warrant of arrest was served by operatives of the Abucay municipal police station and other provincial police units with the accused apprised of his constitutional rights.

The case has no bail recommended. The police chief said the accused for rape was a former barangay tanod.

Arrested for loose firearm was a 62-year-old male of Barangay Omboy in Abucay, allegedly a former “chief of marshall.”

Operatives of the Abucay MPS conducted operation against loose firearms that resulted in the arrest of the suspect who was caught in plain view while in possession of a .9mm pistol with magazine loaded with four ammunitions.

Mostoles said the suspect could not present legal documents and was placed under warrantless arrest. Appropriate charge is now being readied for filing against suspect  before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor in Balanga City.
