Subic Bay is gearing up for a remarkable multisport weekend next month as it prepares to welcome nearly 800 athletes for the much-anticipated Pho3nix Kids Philippines and TriFactor Triathlon Philippines on February 24-25, 2024. The back-to-back international race weekend is poised to become the highlight of Philippine multisport in the first quarter of the year.

TriFactor Philippines offers a diverse array of races catering to various skill levels, making it an inclusive event for both seasoned athletes and newcomers to the sport. From the grueling standard triathlon to shorter and more accessible formats, the event promotes the spirit of triathlon to a broader audience. It will also cater the aqua-cycle category, a swim-bike format that was first introduced in the New Clark City Triathlon last October.

Parallel to this, Pho3nix Kids Philippines represents a crucial initiative in nurturing young sports enthusiasts. Targeting children aged 5-17, this segment of the weekend focuses on engaging the youth in physical activities, instilling values of perseverance, sportsmanship, and the joy of competition in a supportive environment.

“The fusion of TriFactor and Pho3nix Kids events in Subic Bay symbolizes our commitment to promoting a holistic approach to sports,” said Jumbo Tayag, race director for GoClark Sports and
Events, the main organizer for both races. “We believe in providing platforms that not only challenge athletes but also inspire the community and the next generation of sports enthusiasts.”

The Pho3nix Kids Philippines successfully staged five events last year and more than 1300 kid athletes participated in the triathlon, duathlon and fun run segments of the events.

“We had a great run last year in Clark and New Clark City, and the Philippines was one of the highlights of the Pho3nix Kids movement globally. Expanding into Subic Bay in the first leg of
our 2024 calendar helps fulfill our mission to get more kids into sport,” added Noelle De Guzman, the Mana Sports and Entertainment Group representative for Pho3nix Foundation in
the Philippines. Mana Group operates Pho3nix Foundation events and activities globally.

TriFactor Triathlon Philippines meanwhile has attracted a truly international blend of athletes. Aside from the Philippines, represented nations are Singapore, Morocco, Vietnam, Taiwan,
United States, Italy, Brazil, Australia, Germany, France, India, Indonesia, China, The Netherlands, Japan, United Kingdom, Canada and Malaysia.

” It’s exciting to see so many international athletes for our second edition of TriFactor Triathlon Subic Bay. Thank you so much for your trust and support and we look forward to putting a great
event for your start to our 2024 TriFactor championship series,” said Elvin Ting, CEO and cofounder of TriFactor Triathlon based in Singapore.

To add spice and variety to age-group competition, a separate Age Group Elite award category has been added. “We understand the need to consistently innovate, year-in year-out in our races.
This created category will bring out the best out of the finest age groupers in the country. It’s time to highlight their dedication to the sport, and being included in the Age Group Elite category in itself is already a huge accomplishment. This will elevate the whole age group competition to another level,” said Coach Abe Tayag, athlete services director for GoClark.

The beautiful backdrop of the Philippines’ Triathlon mecca Subic Bay adds to the allure of the event, with its scenic routes and warm climate, promising a memorable race experience for all
participants. “The staging of Pho3nix Kids Philippines and Trifactor Triathlon confirms Subic Bay’s claim as triathlon capital of the Philippines. As a sporting event with a big multiplier, these two international events will definitely create a significant economic impact that will benefit the tourism industry in Subic Bay,” said Jem Camba, Tourism Department Head of SBMA.

“We already have more than 600 athletes registered at the moment so we are expecting to soldout soon. Limited slots are still on sale so hopefully you won’t miss out on this exciting multisport weekend in Subic. See you there!,” added Jumbo Tayag.

Pho3nix Kids Philippines and TriFactor Triathlon Philippines is supported by Subic Bay Development Authority, Cycles and Brew, Hydration and Nutrition Partner Whey King Supplements, Subic Greand Harbour Hotel, On Running, Anytime Fitness, SYLBS, Casa Buena Hotel, VelogicFit, CLTV-36 and GetPica.
