ABUCAY, Bataan- More shows for the actor Teri Onor translates to more benefits for the constituents of Vice-Mayor Dexter Dominguez in Abucay town.
This, Teri, the real life vice-mayor, announced over the weekend.
He explained that last August he had a show in America and part of his income from it was spent in the purchase of 10 wheelchairs that he distributed to grateful beneficiaries during his medical mission.
“Ang susunod naman po nating tutulungan sa pamamagitan ng insurance ay ang mga tsuper ng tricycle at jeepney sa Abucay at ito’y manggagaling sa bahagi ng kinikita ko sa Darna’,” the vice-mayor said.
Teri is one of the “taong tuod” fighting “Darna” in the GMA 7 television series on prime time starring Marian Rivera and Mark Anthony.
“Habang patuloy na lumilipad si Darna para ipagtanggol ang mga tao, si Teri naman po ay patuloy na maglilingkod sa kanyang mga kababayan sa tulong ng kanyang mga shows,” the actor-singer-comedian said.
The beneficiaries of the wheelchairs profusely thanked the vice-mayor. “Maraming salamat Teri at kami’y makalalabas na ng bahay ngayon,” they said.
He also initiated a blood-letting project through the help of the Philippine National Red Cross. “Ito’y bilang pagtupad ko sa aking pangako kay Pia Magalona na tutulong ako sa paglikom ng dugo bilang handog kay dabarkads Francis Magalona,” Teri said.
The vice-mayor also helps senior citizens by way of giving birthday cakes and 1,500 daycare pupils in the form of school supplies.
“Sa mga proyektong ito, walang perang nanggagaling sa kaban ng bayan ng Abucay kundi sa bahagi ng kinikita natin bilang artista at sa tulong na rin ng ilang ahensiya ng pamahalaan,” he said. For the medical mission, he thanked the Department of Health in Region 3 led by Regional Director Dr. Rio Magpantay, the Abucay Health Office, PNRC and Rep. Herminia Roman of Bataan’s First District, among others.
Members of the Sangguniang Bayan of Abucay which he chairs assisted Teri in his projects.
