BALANGA CITY — For the fourth day Thursday, the number of new recoveries from the coronavirus disease continued to surpass the number of new confirmed cases in this province.
Records from the provincial health office showed that new recoveries were 349 starting Monday, 350 on Tuesday, 504 on Wednesday and 295 on Thursday as compared to new confirmed cases of 167 on Monday, 196 on Tuesday, 244 on Wednesday and 172 on Thursday.
With more new recoveries listed than new confirmed cases, the number of active infections went down from 2,988 Monday to 2,435 Thursday.
Latest PHO report showed that the number of those who have recovered rose to 32,094 while those who were tested positive reached 35,809.
Bataan logged six new deaths, causing the number of casualties to climb to 1,280.
Vice-Gov. Cris Garcia said the sangguniang panlalawigan that she presides has provided much-needed legislation for the provincial government to immediately act on the pandemic like an ordinance allocating P1 billion for the vaccination program and another ordinance that will limit the movement of unvaccinated individuals.
She said that Gov. Albert Garcia acted immediately and activated quarantine stations and the 30 inoculation sites in 11 towns and one city, including a vax on wheels, to speed-up the vaccination process.
“Tuloy-tuloy ang pagbibigay ng booster shots at pagbabakuna sa 12 years old pataas and in a month or two baka masimulan na rin ang para sa mga 5 – 11 years old,” the vice-governor said.
She urged her constituents who have not been vaccinated yet to avail of the free vaccination program of government. “Isipin ninyo hindi lamang ang inyong sarili kundi ang inyong mga mahal sa buhay na baka mapahamak dahil hindi kayo bakunado.”
