CLARK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – Starting June 1, more flights mounted by South East Asian Airlines International (SeaAir) will be bringing here an influx of Chinese tourists.

Alexander Cauguiran, Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) officer-in-charge said SeaAir will be flying 32 flights a month in Clark, eight each from Ningbo, Wenshou, Wuhan, and Heifei.

Cauguiran also said 32 flights per month will be coming in for technical stops here to Puerto Princesa from Beijing, Kuming, Nanning, and Changsa.

“All these flights, barring any unforeseen obstacles, will start on June 1,” Cauguiran said.

In preparation, the CIAC chief said he will arrange a meeting with tour operators here and travel agencies to package the local tours of the Chinese tourists.

He added that “a meeting with tourism officers and local government unit leaders will be set to prepare their respective areas for tourists in Clark and of course with their hotels and casinos.”

Cauguiran said “if the planes from China are not fully loaded, yes they can even help sell tickets for passenger backload.”

Additional information said the SeaAir flights using two aircraft which interchange nightly will include the daily CRK-Beijing and CRKKoror routes with guided tours to choice destinations in the Metro Clark area and nearby cities.

It added that Koror is the most prominent among many islands comprising the main commercial center of the Republic of Palau.

“This is a huge development for Clark airport as SeaAir’s passengers are mainly Chinese businessmen and their families who wish to visit the country,” Cauguiran said in a statement.

Earlier, it was announced that China Eastern will mount daily flights to Clark-Shanghai routes beginning May or June with afternoon arrivals and departures.

“Ing focus ku is economic activity na malambat na nang sasabyan ning grupo tamu (My main focus is economic activity which has long been advocated by our group),” Cauguiran said.

He said he is confident that more flights to this airport will follow soon barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Cauguiran disclosed that he is presently trying to woe Japanese, Thai, and Vietnamese carriers.
