ANGELES CITY — The Covid-19 pandemic adversely affected beauty pageants around the world, disrupting their functionality as bridge to connect with different advocacies and charitable institutions.
This, even as Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) continues to promote “empowerment with a purpose”as the candidates vie for the crown while taking active roles in charitable activities of different foundations and programs across the country.
Hence, amid the current circumstances, MUP has launched an online subscription-based series dubbed Ring Light.
Ring Light is a special fundraising project under the MUP organization which aims to highlight the candidates’ journey to the crown through behind–the–scene episodes from the training, preliminaries, up to the coronation night.
Two Kapampangan beauties, Christine Nicole Silvernale and Patricia Mae Santos, will compete for the Miss Universe Philippines title, representing Angeles City and Pampanga, respectively.
Both Silvernale and Santos have been actively participating in different activities and fundraising programs in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic through Lugud Balen projects such as Lugud Tanam and Lugud on Wheels, as well as Project Millennial PH’s bracelets of hope, love, and unity.
Each candidate has chosen her own beneficiaries for the Ring Light series: Silvernale for Anak Bale Balayan with Peter De Vera, Santos for Children’s Home of Eucharistic Love and Kindness with Sr. Florentina Montemayor.
A portion of each subscription will go to the personal beneficiary specially chosen by the MUP candidates and the official MUP partner organizations
The Ring Light Series will premiere on September 27 featuring new episodes every Sunday through https://empire.ph/show/ring-light/ with a one-time subscription fee of P299. Early bird promo rate is P249 until August 31 only.
The Miss Universe Philippines coronation night will be held on October 25 via live telecast and online streaming.
