MISS WORLD Philippines 2018 Katarina Rodriguez laments over Miss World 2018 presentation:
“And if you watch it, parang mas mukhang game show. Parang ang feeling doon, parang game show talaga.”
Katarina was the Philippine representative to the Miss World 2018 which was held in Sanya, China According to the beauty queen, she expected a highly conceptualized international pageant.
“Well, I actually knew a week before and, unfortunately, Miss World wasn’t what I thought it’s gonna be.
“I think of traditional pageant talaga, you hear Miss World, you think really traditional pageant.
Katarina mentioned that Philippine representative Catriona Gray landed among the top 5 but unable to hold any major title during the Miss World 2016.
“I’m sure, you remember na sumali si Catriona Gray.
“She won lahat ng mga awards but she wasn’t even first runner-up.
“I think throughout, if you watch it, you’ll see how the pageant is, the type of pageant it is.
“And I think that speaks for itself because using her experiences as an example and my own experience as an example, you will really see, okay, there’s something that they do differently from the likes of Miss Universe, of Miss International, at yung iba pang pageants.
“You’ll know when you watch it na lang.”
Two years after, Catriona was hailed Miss Universe.
Katarina is now among the cast of
“G! LU (Go! La Union).together with Chanel Morales, Michelle Dee, Cynthia Thomalla, Sophia Senoren, and Kimi Mugford.
The said actresses will be paired by Kiko Estrada, David Licauco, Teejay Marquez, Enzo Pineda, Marco Poli, Dominic Roque, and Derrick Monasterio.
The movie will be shown on June 19.

AFTER KYLA’S transfer from GMA to ABS-CBN, her voice won’t be heard anymore as the singer of “Magpakailanman”.
Kyla has been replaced by Golden Canedo.
Kyla’s version has been used in the drama antology show since it returned to television in 2013.
Even though she did her network transfer to ABS-CBN in 2015, the Kapuso network still used Kyla’s version of the “Magpakailanman” theme song.
However, on March 12, 2019, GMA-7’s YouTube account uploaded a new music video of “Magpakailanman” featuring The Clash grand winner, Golden Canedo.
The music video featured Golden recording the theme song under the guidance of its composer, Wency Cornejo.
Wency, the son of Magpakailanman host Mel Tiangco, composed and sang the the theme song for the show’s first incarnation from 2002 to 2007.
The music video also showed a montage of Magpakailanman’s old episodes from its second run in 2013 to present.
Meanwhile,Kapuso actor Jak Roberto is set to bring life to viral macho dancer, Dante Gulapa, in the upcoming Magpakailanman episode.
Dante Gulapa became viral on social media because of his version of the “Kahit Ayaw Mo Na” challenge.
He also popularized the “Eagle Pose,” which earned him the title “Big Papa” of social media. Jak posted a photo of him in character on his Instagram account yesterday, March 19.
Jak also posted a video today, March 20, of him doing macho dancing at a bar.
This will be shown as part of the Magpakailanman episode.
It may be recalled that in an episode of Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, Dante Gulapa talked about his previous job as a macho dancer.
In his Instagram story last week, StarStruck 6 graduate Kevin Sagra posted a video of Jak practicing macho dance moves while watching Dante’s videos.
In an interview with, Jak revealed that Dante attended their tapings to personally teach him how to do the dance moves.
The Dante Gulapa episode of Magpakailanman is set to air this Saturday, March 23.
Dante will also be seen in the episode to portray himself at the present.
