Miss Earth beauties bond with nature at Zoocobia

    CLARK FREEPORT ZONE – At least nine candidates of the Miss Earth Philippines 2011 beauty pageant and children of a Manila-based orphanage revelled at the Zoocobia Fun Zoo inside the Paradise Ranch at the sacobia valley here on Tuesday.

    The nine lovely candidates and children from the Nayon ng Kabataan Orphanage highlighted their visit with a tree planting activity that fostered their link with the environment and care for Mother Earth.

    Zoomanity Group President and CEO Robert Laurel Yupangco, owner and developer of the Zoocobia Fun Zoo, met the candidates and their orphan children partners and treated them to the zoo’s indigenous and exotic animals. These include bear cats, civets, Philippine Lizard, boa, monkeys, hedgehogs, eagle, the not so uncommon parakeet birds and ostriches which can be hand-fed and farm animals like sheeps, goats, ducks, a pot bellied pig and cow that can also be hand-fed and petted.

    A cultural show featuring the tribal dances of Aetas performed by Aeta children and animal show with a trained poodle dog,  birds, ducks and guinea pigs delighted the candidates and children.

    Among the nine lovely candidates were Gabrielle Marie Cabrera representing Alabat, Quezon; Kaludine Palma of Antipolo City; Dindi Joy Pajares of Balanga, Bataan; Marde Rose Enriquez of Calamba, Laguna; Czshevinah Hae Alejandro of Lipa City; Mary Denise Toribio of Malolos, Bulacan; Ma. Alicia Elena Ariosa of Pagadian City; Princess Jenifer Inosa of San Pedro, Laguna; and Leslie Ching of San Isidro, Nueva Ecija.

    Yupangco said they hosted the Miss Earth Philippines candidates as part of their advocacy for a “One Big Green Park – Philippines.”

    Mabalacat Tourism Officer Guy Hilbero was also present in welcoming the Miss Earth Philippines candidates and to lend support to the environmental advocacy of the Zoomanity Group.

    The winner of the Miss Earth Philippines 2011 pageant, which will be held in Puerto Princesa, Palawan will represent the Philippines in the International Miss Earth 2011 Pageant to be held in November. The annual Miss Earth beauty tilt is organized by Carousel Productions headed by former beauty queen Lorraine Schuck.
