Mike was the male winner in Starstruck 2 while Aljur Abrenica is one of the two winners of Starstruck 5 (the other one is Martin Escudero who’s now with TV5), but it’s obvious that Aljur is the more favored one.
On the outdoor billboards of “Kambal Sirena”, it’s only the photos of Aljur and Louise de los Reyes who are displayed prominently. In the presscon, only Aljur was given a mike to greet the press, while Mike was just standing there.
Aljur is given much importance even in the trailer as the man who comes between the twin sisters played by Louise, while Mike is merely introduced as Jun, a fisherman who becomes the friend of Louise’s sirena character, Alona.
“Okay lang yun,” says Mike. “Basta happy akong may bago na ako uling assignment kasi ‘yung last show ko was ‘Mga Basang Sisiw’, about six months ago pa.
Habang wala akong assignment, nag-guest ako sa ‘Magpakailanman’, I did regional shows, at nakatapos ako ng isang movie, ‘Bigkis’, where I play a doctor, starring LJ Reyes and Rich Asuncion.”
How does he feel when Starstruck 1 winner Mark Herras admitted in public that he’s an unwed father?
Someone quipped that like, Mark, his handler is also a woman.
