CLARK FREEPORT – “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…” as the song says with the launching of this year’s Angels’ Dream at the Midori Hotel and Casino here.
The ceremony started the month-long run of this year’s Angels’ Dream and the celebration of the hotel festivities for the Holiday season.
This year’s Angels’ Dream had 800 children-beneficiaries joining the program to receive early Christmas gifts.
“This event is continuing the real essence of Christmas which is giving,” said Midori owner, BBI president/CEO Dr. Irineo “Bong” Alvarro, Jr. “For next year, we will have 1,000 kids,” he added.
Highlighting the event is the hanging of wish cards from the kids on the hotel’s giant Christmas tree. The hanging of wishes is a tradition that symbolizes the wishes and dreams of the little youngsters which will be fulfilled by the employees, subsidiaries, sponsors and guests and that may even be heaven-sent, according to GM Vic Chan.
In line with the Christmas season, company representatives will also be visiting schools in Sapang Bato, Sitio Target and Monicayo, Haduan, Calapi, Macapagal and Marcos Village to fulfill some of the wishes or make them come true in time for Christmas.
Chan said Santa Claus will come a little bit early with gifts that will take place on December 18.
“From 300, 600 and now we are granting the 800 wishes of little Angels. We are thrilled on how our partners, employees and guests support this breakthrough. With this program, we all can be heaven sent and we can be a blessing by giving,” Chan declared.
For his part, Simon Jiang, acting general manager of Aqua Planet and president of EagleSky Technology, Amusement, Inc. said giving is what makes all the difference. “This is what’s it’s all about,” he added.
“We share one vision with this event that is to improve the lives of families that we serve through our top-notch service, may it be in the entertainment or in the hospitality business,” he said.
Joining the program were Clark Development Corp. (CDC) top executives led by Evangeline Tejada and Marisa Mandocdoc as well as Department of Tourism III regional director Carolina Uy.
Angels’ Dream is the corporate social responsibility (CSR) program of Midori Clark Hotel and Casino every Yuletide season. The program aims to provide an even bigger Christmas celebration which is more meaningful “and something that always leaves a jolly mark in the heart,” Chan said.
During its first year in 2016, about 300 wishes from Aeta kids were granted. Double the number from its first year, 600 dreams came true in 2017.
Every year, the CSR program becomes bigger and brighter thru the number of wishes being granted and by the partners who join in the breakthrough.
The Angels’ Dream 2018 is in partnership with BBI Foundation, Aqua Planet, OVBD, and EagleSky.
