CLARK FREEPORT – The Midori Clark Hotel’s casino is now open to the public after its soft opening last Wednesday.
Dr. Irineo “Bong” Alvaro, president of BB International Leisure and Resort Development Corp. (BBI) which operates Midori Clark Hotel and Casino, said the opening of the casino is “the first pillar that shall open wide investments… bigger and bolder.”
“We have made the first step that shall trigger other steps which are bigger and much, much better,” Alvaro said before leading the ceremonial toast for the casino’s soft opening.
He said by the end of the year or the first quarter of next year, the “Aqua Planet,” a multi-billion water theme park, will also be opened here.
Alvaro said the Midori Casino will be introducing all the first in the industry of gaming beginning with its high end slot machines by Aristocrat, one of the world’s providers of gaming solutions.
The behemoth slot machine, the first in Asia because not even Macau has it, was also first introduced at Midori Casino.
He said Aristocrat, a company driven “to create the world’s greatest gaming experience every day,” will be making Midori Casino as one of its showcases in Asia before its products will be introduced to the other casinos in Asia.
Alvaro said another first at Midori Casino is the latest software of Silicon Valley technology which is a full RFID (radio frequency identification) system.
“None in the country has this kind of material. It’s the benchmark we are introducing for gaming and recreation here at Midori Casino,” he said. “It is the first intelligent table gaming,” he added.
Alvaro also thanked Mr. Jack Yang, BBI chairman as well as Mayors Marino “Boking” Morales of Mabalacat City and Edgardo Pamintuan of Angeles City and Pampanga Rep. Joseller “Yeng” Guiao.
The BBI president was profuse in thanking Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) president and COO Eugene D. Manalastas and Director Enriquito M. Nuguid who were in attendance.
The casino soft opening initially put online 140 machines and 12 gaming tables including the biggest in Asia. Eventually, 20 more gaming machines will be added as well as an additional 27 tables. Two food and beverage outlets are also now operational for casino operations, according to Alvaro.
Covering 9,900 square meters (106,500 square feet), Midori Clark is slated to have 111 rooms, suited using eight different floor plans.
The venue will also include a 400 capacity ballroom, according to a press release. Other non-gaming amenities include five dining outlets, gymnasium, spa, karaoke venue, mahjong rooms, and swimming pool.
Alvaro, former threeterm councilor of Angeles City, also celebrated his 57th birthday on the occasion.
The registered name of the hotel is Central Summit International Leisure Hotel Inc.
