Cebu City, Philippines – Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC), in partnership with delaware Philippines, proudly announces the successful go-live of RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), marking a significant milestone in the digital transformation of AIC’s subsidiaries, Aboitiz GMR-Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation (AGMCAC) and Globemerchants, Inc. (GMI). This transformative milestone marks a new era for MCIA, significantly boosting operational efficiency and empowering data-driven decision-making at one of the country’s busiest airports.
This achievement, known as Synergy Phase 1.4, represents a comprehensive digital overhaul, equipping MCIA with advanced enterprise resource planning (ERP) and enterprise asset management (EAM) digital capabilities. The implementation is a pivotal part of its commitment to optimizing business operations and improving the overall efficiency and agility of its subsidiaries in one of the busiest airports in the country.
Synergy Phase 1.4 introduces several key systems to enhance MCIA’s operations. The ERP system, powered by RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, streamlines real estate leasing and inventory management. In addition, the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system, along with SAP Work Clearance Management, and SAP Service and Asset Manager, ensures efficient asset and service management. The SAP Ariba rollout covers supplier performance, sourcing automation, and business network commerce, improving procurement transparency and efficiency.
Additionally, SAP Concur for expense management, non-PO invoice automation, and cash advance was implemented to streamline processing of documents further. An improved funds management strengthens financial planning, and its integration with the Airport Operations Database (AODB) and Tenant Management System (TMS) ensures smoother data synchronization and tenant management.
For MCIA Chief Financial Officer Henrik Jepsen, this strategic move is their way to position MCIA as a world-class airport in the Philippines that will further carry the best services for their stakeholders.
“This milestone represents a giant leap in our digital transformation journey, empowering us with comprehensive digital capabilities across ERP and EAM systems. We are now more efficient, agile, and equipped to make data-driven decisions with greater accountability,” said Jepsen.
Achieving this broad system implementation for MCIA in under seven months showcases the dedication and hard work of the teams from Finance, Procurement, Operations, HR-Admin, and IT, along with the invaluable support from AIC’s IT & Digital, Finance, Procurement, and Real Estate Leasing Operations (RE-FX) teams. The project was executed with critical contributions from AGMCAC and GMI’s internal teams and strong collaboration with delaware Philippines and SAP.
“This achievement was made possible by the collaborative efforts of all teams, particularly our partners at delaware Philippines, who continue to drive our digital transformation initiatives and propel us toward greater success,” said Raymund Ramos, Vice President & AIC Head of IT & Digital.
Partner and Managing Director at delaware Philippines Rosette Carrao, echoed these sentiments, stating, “We are thrilled to have supported AIC and its subsidiaries in realizing this successful go-live. This project will further enhance MCIA’s operations, setting new benchmarks for digital transformation in the airport and infrastructure sectors.”
Simone Pigason, Senior Vice President for Customer Success at delaware Philippines, echoed this sentiment, stating, “delaware Philippines is committed to delivering transformative technologies across industries, paving the way for a future where every sector becomes a digital leader.”
This remarkable achievement underscores AIC’s continued dedication to leveraging technology to drive business excellence, efficiency, and security. As the organization looks ahead, this digital transformation serves as a cornerstone for future growth and operational enhancements.
