MABALACAT CITY – By the hundreds of millions in financial assistance, with those in the peripheries benefitted most.

No sheer coincidence, but willful intent has come the opening of the gates – and the coffers – of city hall to the people, regardless of social or economic status, with the ascendancy of Crisostomo C. Garbo to the mayoralty.

The clarion call to serve made by Garbo right on Day 1,was met with the full mobilization of all city department offices, given full legislative support by the sangguniang panlungsod led by Vice Mayor Gerald Guthrie Aquino, and with their collective dedication and commitment “mas nadama ng mga Mabalaqueños ang isang dekalidad at mapagkalingang serbisyo-publiko na napakadaling maabot.”

The cost of serving the people of Mabalacat City through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Program:

P59.4 million to 4,999 constituents in 2019
P78.9 million to 10,557 constituents in 2020
P141.8 million to 15,008 constituents in 2021.

The numbers collated from the City Social Assistance Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, Population, Gender, and Development Office, and the a City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

For 2022, the sum of P153.52 million has been earmarked for financial assistance in crisis situations.

The city government has also made it express policy to fully adhere to transparency and accountability, its book of accounts open to the public.

To MCG – the Mabalacat City Government, as well as Mayor Cris Garbo – the high cost it takes to serve, is far outweighed by the value of the service extended as much for the recipients as for those who served.

“It is our duty as public servants, it is our commitment as Christians.” So declared Mayor Garbo.
