MABALACAT CITY – Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, on Thursday, announced that the
city government is all set for the full resumption of face-to-face classes in this city
which will begin on Aug. 22.
Garbo instructed the city government officials to convene with the concerned
department units and public and private school administrators to give updates on
Covid-19 protocols through the city’s Covid-19 Response Integrated System,
(CRIS), dengue, and monkeypox, and other related programs of the city
government.
“This is to ensure that we are really ready for face-to-face classes. I instructed our
local officials to convene with the schools in the city to give updates and calibrate
them with our guidelines and protocols,” said Garbo.
“It has been two years. Of course, we still want to minimize the spread of the
virus and transition the students as they go back to school,” he added.
The orientation meeting was attended by committee chair on education councilor
Noel Castro, city administrator Franco Madlangbayan, CRIS head Dr. Jay Rivera,
city health office head Dr. Ma. Clara Aquino, city information officer Jay Pelayo IV,
Lt. Col. Protom Guevarra, other department unit heads, and school
administrators.
Garbo also reiterated the availability of the city’s Covid-19 testing centers and the
continuing vaccination programs of the city government.
Madlangbayan said the F2F preparedness is an important initiative to learn the
concerns of all schools in the city and coordinate the programs of the city
government.
“Mahalaga itong naging inisyatibo upang malaman ang mga concerns ng mga
namamahala sa eskwelahan at malaman rin nila ang mga programa ng lokal na
pamahalaan para sa mga mag-aaral,” said Madlangbayan.
The city government pushes to calibrate all concerned departments on the
implementation of the health and safety guidelines and protocols for all
Mabalaquenian students as they slowly transition from blended learning to on-
site learning for the school year 2022-2023.
