STO. TOMAS, Pamp. – Mayor Joselito “Lito” Naguit vowed to work for the completion of a planned P10 million expansion and rehabilitation of the Compac police station here to boost the confidence of police and other government workers.

Naguit said the municipal facility which he described as “the gateway to Sto. Tomas” had been “too old and dilapidated.” He added the 32-member town police force, municipal trial court and other government offices hold office in the building.

‘”It should be fixed to boost the confidence not only of policemen but the Sto. Tomas folk as well. I lament every time they say the old building is the landmark to our town,” said Naguit, who won re-election by getting about 88 percent of the total votes cast in 2010 elections.

Naguit said Gov. Lilia “Nanay Baby” Pineda had expressed her desire to help him complete the project the soonest possible time.

“When Governor Baby promises something, it is good as done,” he added.

Naguit said the completion and improvement of infrastructure facilities “would be his priority for his second term.”

“We can only attract investors if we have good infrastructure in the town,” said Naguit. “Investors mean employment for our people.”

Naguit, a former town and barangay councilor, said he wants jobs for his people at their town and not in nearby areas.

The mayor said “slowly but surely our town is rising.”

Naguit said he worked for the completion of some 15 kilometers of road projects in the town in his first term. He vowed to complete the repair and construction of vital roads in the town with seven barangays.
